Page a Day in May - Hosted by Swimmer

Did you see my ticker went up!?! I started writing! Yay!

And, with absolutely perfect timing, Swimmer started a Page a Day in May challenge. I'm totally going up and you should too!

I have a goal to write 20,000 words this month. I think a page a day would totally do that for me. Just FYI, I type in 11pt Optima font with 1.1 line spacing and a ½ inch indent on each paragraph.

I got the opening for my WIP written. It's pretty rocky but the point is to write it, not have it perfect. I probably would have had at least 300 more words if I didn't edit while I write. I really need to work on not doing that.

I believe my goal for this week will be to write 700 new words (which is about a page) everyday on my WIP without stopping. Then, the next day, spend about30 mins slightly editing what I wrote the previous day and use that as a little warm up. Then we'll see how that goes, if it works, I'll continue with it.

Lets get going with a page a day!

Sounds like a great idea! I'm seriously considering doing it too. Thanks for the reminder.

Good for you Liz! I would try not to edit what you wrote. I made that mistake and I couldn't finish the piece I was working on.

Amy Jo - You totally should, if anything, it's a great goal to work towards.

JL - I think it's more a review. I'm not an editor and it will not be a rewriting. But maybe more like a review to get my gears in motion for the next page.

I agree don't edit what you write yet, just remember it is only 1st draft editing comes later!

Thanks for signing up for the challenge! Starts Thursday I can't wait!

You can do it! You're setting manageable goals, which is the first step to success!

Congrats! I'm not sure I could commit to a page a day, not right after the 50k/50 challenge. I need a break from the pressure if that makes sense.

Since submissions are supposed to be double-spaced, 700 words is more like 2 1/2 pages! (So pat yourself on the back!) Way to get a good start!

Congratulations!! I'm sure you'll do great! I didn't do so well on the 50/50 challenge but I will be imposing my own challenge when I'm done with my birthday madness. I will need a blogging break after that.
